In order to apply for a project you need to be a Full Member. As a Full Member, your contact information will always be available to visitors of Directfreelance.com, and you will be able to submit a bid for each of listed projects you are be interested in directly from your account. You will be always notified about new projects matching your criteria (you will be receiving emails to your regular mail box - this is an optional feature).
Also clients can contact you to your INBOX (you will be notified about a new email from a client by a regular email box). All these emails are monitored by us to avoid Spam and false requests for services.

How can I collect payment from my clients? |

We recommend using PayPal system to collect payments from clients. This system is usually used by freelancers. You negotiate and agree upon payment method with project outsourcers. You must directly contact project outsourcers about the project and agree upon the payment method.

The search engine takes the following factors into account when showing the results: type of membership (only full members appear in the results), user feedback rating, date of becoming a member and the popularity count.

You can stop receiving email notifications by clicking on My Profile > Edit and selecting New Projects Notification: “Disabled” using drop down menu under Email Notifications section.

There are three types of users at Directfreelance.com

Freelancer - freelancers may register free of charge. Freelancers may receive messages from potential clients, list their resume in the registry, respond to posted projects. Freelancers must purchase full membership in order to be able to contact potential clients, project posters and companies offering full time or part time employment. Only full members appear on the Freelancers' List.
Agency - agencies may register free of charge. Agencies may receive messages from potential clients, list their resume in the registry, respond to posted projects. Agencies must purchase full membership in order to be able to contact potential clients, project posters and companies offering full time or part time employment. Only full members appear in the registry.

What should I do after I register as a client? |

After registration, you should update your profile with your contact information. Next you may post a project or search registry for freelancers and agencies.

After registration, you should create your resume. If you do not create your resume, other users will not be able to find you in our registry. Creating your resume is easy. Simply, click on My Profile tab after signing on and use sub-menu to provide necessary information.

Freelancers and agencies must purchase full membership in order to be able to respond to inquiries from potential clients. Freelancers and agencies contact information will not be displayed on their resume until they purchase full membership. Freelancers will not be able to contact companies and agencies without purchasing full membership.

Portfolio allows you to showcase your sample work to clients interested in your services.

What type of files can I upload to my portfolio? |
You can upload Microsoft Word, Excel documents. Adobe PDF, html and text documents. You can also upload images in .jpg and .gif format.

What kind of information should I provide for Title, Description and Price fields? |
In title field provide short description of the item you uploaded. For example: “Letter translation”. In the description field, you can enter a short paragraph describing the sample. In the price field provide the amount, you would charge for the sample item.

In order to have the best quality of the photo displayed on your resume, we recommend that the uploaded photo is at least 200px in height and 150px in width since all photos are adjusted on your resume to this size.

Directfreelance.com is not responsible for completion of projects by freelancers and agencies. The final job contract is between outsourcers and freelancers.

What should I do after I post my project? |
|
You will receive responses from freelancers and agencies. In order to view bids received and select a freelancer or an agency, go to the home page and logon to your account. After logging in, click on My Projects on the main Navigation bar, and then click on the button View Bids and you will see names of freelancers. After clicking on the button Pending next to freelancer’s name you will be able to send a message to him/her. Click on the button DECLINE, if you are not interested in a particular offer.
Please, close your project after you select a freelancer to work with. Each time a freelancer submits a bid for the project, the project provider is notified via email about the new bid. The project provider can view all the bids from the freelancers and the agencies in his account. The project provider may select one or more freelancers for his project by responding to bids. Freelancers are notified via email that their bids were accepted and they can contact the project provider. After completion of the project, the freelancers and agencies working on the project are invited to provide feedback about the project provider. Similarly, the project provider is invited to provide feedback about the freelancers and the agencies.

What does FEEDBACK and rating system mean? |

How can I submit a bid? |
|
In order to be able to submit a bid you must be a full member. After logging on to your account click on Projects on the main menu . Next, select the project number you wish to submit the bid for. Click on View, click on Submit Bid and enter your message and then click on “Send” button. You can find the list of your bids under Projects > My Bids.

How do I know that I received bids from freelancers? |
|
Project posters will receive emails with recently submitted bids. Also, project providers can view project bids from their accounts. In order to view all received bids, please logon to your account and click on "My Projects" link and then click on "VIEW BIDS". After you click on translator's name you will be able reply to the bid. If you are not interested in a particular offer click on DECLINE button. Translators are notified via email that their bids were accepted and they can directly contact project provider.

Messages are emails sent to users from this website. You may keep track of messages you have sent out. The outgoing messages are in your Outbox under Home link.
